Our Contingency Fee Policy

We are aware of the tough times many people face these days in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and throughout the country. When you’ve sustained a severe injury, your focus should be on your health, your recovery, and your family’s welfare, not your ability to pay for representation.

With this in mind, Flager Law represents clients on a contingency fee basis. In short, attorneys’ fees and other case-related expenses do not apply unless you receive a successful judgment or settlement.

Are settlements taxable?

If you receive a favorable decision in your personal injury case, in most cases you won’t have to pay any taxes on your settlement. Settlements resulting from physical injuries or sickness in a personal injury case are tax-free. The government looks at the compensation you may receive as a result of a physical injury or sickness as making you whole again, not as taxable “income.”

In some cases, you may receive compensation for lost income or non-economic losses such as emotional distress, which may be taxable. Our attorneys can help you with any tax questions or other concerns about your potential case.
